In order to meet the market requirements and customer expectations, Raben Logistics Polska has marked another point on the logistic map of Poland by opening, together with a long-term customer - MAKRO Cash & Carry Polska, a new warehouse in Adamów near Warsaw. In the facility with an area of 33,000 sqm, have been applied many solutions that increase not only the efficiency of the process, but also safety of employees.
Due to its dynamic development, Raben Logistics Polska needed more space to carry out its logistics operations. The processes that had previously taken place in Błonie near Warsaw were transferred to the new warehouse. The investment is located on the premises of Panattoni A2 Warsaw Park, right next to Autostrada Wolności (Highway of Freedom), the popular A2, which is an important communication junction for domestic and international transport.
“Changing the warehouse is a necessary investment for us from the business point of view. Our needs related to the performing of logistics processes have increased, and the possibility of transferring them to A2 Warsaw Park in Adamów will certainly satisfy them, incl. thanks to the greater efficiency of storage. The warehouse was built according to our needs. Thanks to this, we can implement innovative methods of handling orders of a key client in this location in a manner dedicated to him, and a number of technical innovations that facilitate and improve the work of people employed here.” - says Jolanta Sawińska, Area Director, Raben Logistics Polska.
What distinguishes the current location is not only the high storage hall (12.5 m high, of which 11.7 m is the storage height), or the planned professional warehouse for storing flammable liquids. It is also modern solutions used inside the warehouse, including an automatic sorting system created thanks to effective cooperation with our client - MAKRO.
The facility uses many solutions that increase not only the efficiency and accuracy of the process, but also safety of employees. It is worth mentioning here, that warehouse is equipped with modern fire protection systems, together with a sprinkler system compliant with NFPA13 standards, and in the aforementioned hall for flammable liquids will be additional inter-rack sprinklers.
The transport of pallets inside the warehouse is ensured by forklifts with modern lithium-ion batteries. Their advantage is short time of replenishing energy and the possibility of recharging the batteries. This increases work efficiency and allows for better handling capacity in the warehouse. Similarly, as used in the branch Put 2 Light technology, i.e. using light indications by completing orders.
The drivers coming to the Raben hall were also taken care of. There are 45 parking spaces for trucks waiting for them.
All companies involved in the process of creating the warehouse: Panattoni, Raben and MAKRO care also about the natural environment. Hence it is worth mentioning the ecological and pro-environmental solutions in the facility. From solutions such as the aforementioned Li-Ion carts, through the façade of the building, in which thermal energy absorbing panels were used, to the nest boxes for butterflies and ... bats installed outside the building.
The investment in the new warehouse was possible, among others, thanks to the partnership cooperation with a long-term customer of Raben - MAKRO. And the modern solutions implemented here will allow for even more efficient execution of orders.
