Fashionable Legnica in Poland

2020.10.30

Raben Logistics Polska is planning to open a new location in Legnica in November 2020. A dedicated contract logistics project for Ahlers AG Group will be conducted in the Panattoni Park Legnica, a 11,000 m2 facility.

The new project combines the ongoing operations for the customer with warehousing activities moved from Germany. It is one of many examples proving Poland's importance as a central HUB and Europe’s logistics backbone, but also a way to optimize costs across a supply chain.

AHLERS has been our customer since 2017. This is when we started providing logistics services in Gniewomierz, in a 2,000 m2 facility. We are pleased to know that the trust we have earned throughout the years brought about the possibility to extend our cooperation. I am deeply convinced that the international character of Raben Logistics Polska branch in Gniewomierz and the synergies arising from the use of our strong network, not only across Europe, but also in Poland, will allow us and our customer to continue to grow together ” – comments Andrzej Bielecki – Regional Director, Raben Logistics Polska.

Ahlers Group encompasses brands such as Pierre Cardin, Baldessarini, Otto Kern, Pioneer or Pionier Workwear. The logistics behind these brands will soon be handled in Legnica. Several million items of clothing will be shipped from Raben Logistics Polska warehouse to buyers in Poland and many European countries.

“The professional approach to cooperation, dating back to 2017, lead us to the decision to expand our partnership. From the very beginning of the talks, our cooperation has been based on open exchange of views, ultimately aiming to work out the best possible solutions. Legnica’s geographical location (close to the border of our largest market), the fulfilment of the strategic function of an international HUB by Raben's branch and the recently developed technological advancements in courier shipments are the additional arguments for our growing involvement in Poland in the coming years.” - adds Holger Berg, Managing Director in Ahlers Poland.

It is worth reminding that the branch in Legnica is also a key link in Raben Group's transport network, one of its roles being a major shipment consolidation point in the transport between Poland and Germany. The is the place from where goods leave, every morning, via 39 connections, of which 36 lead directly to Raben Group branches all over Germany. The newest direct connection to Kempten was launched mid-September, with more to come. The dynamic growth of connections translates into numbers. 14,000 shipments monthly, a total of around 8 million kilograms, leave Legnica for Germany.
