2017.04.21
Raben Group took over a 20% share in Sittam, a leader on the Italian market of international groupage transportation on road, sea & air, with its main office & central hub in Cornaredo near Milan. The purchase is intended to confirm the strengthening partnership between the companies.

In more than 50 years SITTAM has achieved a prestigious position in the international groupage market in Italy and overseas, consolidating its network all over Europe, C.I.S. countries and in the Middle East, with extensive activities in sea & air freight services using over 90 sole agents with which SITTAM wants to continue long-term cooperation. In 2015 the Company was bought from CEVA by ALS which remains its main shareholder.

Giuseppe Del Ciampo, Managing Director of SITTAM: “We are very pleased with Raben as an additional shareholder whose  core business is national & interntional groupage transport. This gives us more stability”.

SITTAM is actively working with many leading businesses and industries throughout Italy. For existing business partners, today’s purchase by Raben Group does not mean a change. The company wants to continue and keep the long-term agents. The purchase is intended to confirm the strengthening partnership between companies.

Ewald Raben, CEO Raben Group: “The cooperation with SITTAM in the CEE Countries adds another operating country to our network. The Italian market is export-driven and this is a potential we are interested in. We want to successfully expand the partnership with SITTAM  by relying on the quality and expertise of the Italian experts.”

The alliance with Raben is a valid option for SITTAM management to develop their European logistic network, just in case any unplanned change might occur in their own network set-up.
